Dr. Pamela Lindor has lived in Jacksonville since 2013. She is a pediatrician at the newly opened Bluebird Kids Health.

Tell us about your business or your organization. What is your position, and what are your responsibilities?

I am a pediatrician at Bluebird Kids Health, a newly opened primary care pediatric practice on the Westside of Jax. We will be opening a second location in Brentwood this fall. I am a primary care pediatrician, providing care to children from birth through age 21. I perform well check-ups, sports physicals, pre-op exams, sick visits and manage chronic health conditions like ADHD and asthma.

What do you like best about what you do?

The best part about being a pediatrician is the kids! Interacting with kids of all ages is the happiest part of my work, and I love to see how they grow and develop over time. I also really enjoy supporting parents as they face the challenges of parenthood.

What is a typical day like for you?

My typical day at work involves seeing children for well, sick and follow-up visits, ordering medications and vaccines, talking to parents and answering their questions. I see patients in office and also virtually. I answer questions through our patient portal and help make decisions about the way our practice operates. I make sure that every day I do my best to provide exceptional care to every child and family we serve.

Tell us about your background.

I have been in pediatric practice for 32 years. I have always practiced primary care with a focus on education and prevention. For about 20 years I also taught medical students and pediatric residents in clinical settings, preparing the next generation of physicians to enter practice.

I went to medical school at the University of Massachusetts and did my pediatric residency training at Yale New Haven Hospital in Connecticut.

I have three adult children, two young children and now two new grandchildren.

Are you from this area originally, or did you settle here from somewhere else?

I was raised and trained in New England. I practiced in Massachusetts after completing my training. I moved south (to get better weather!) in 2010. I have lived in Jacksonville since 2013 and love being a part of this community. I feel like I found my home away from home.

What do you like best about living here?

I love so much about Jacksonville. I love the weather (most of the year!) and the beautiful scenery. I love the bridges and the beaches. I find Jacksonville a great place to raise a family.

There is an amazing diversity here, and I learn and experience new things every day. Jacksonville has a great location and easy airport, which makes traveling to see my adult children and family easy.

How do you like to spend your free time?

I enjoy spending time with my family and visiting my adult children and two new grandchildren. I also love to do graphic design, crafts, shopping and cooking. I love to travel, especially cruises. I have recently started hatching and raising chickens!
