Liam Wong, a 6th grade student at Jacksonville Country Day School and a Ponte Vedra Beach resident, recently portrayed Spanish astronaut Pedro Duque at his school — in costume and while speaking Spanish.
He was a part of the Hispanic Wax Museum, a school project that showcased the language and presentation skills of 6th graders, many of whom have taken Spanish for over six years at JCDS.
Visitors saw a cast of famous Hispanics, including Pablo Picasso, Frida Kahlo and other celebrities who told their life stories in Spanish with a push of a button.
The students worked on their biographies, poster presentations and costumes for several weeks prior to the event.
