Life rarely unfolds exactly as planned. The death of a loved one, divorce, an inheritance, a career change, a major health event or relocation can suddenly leave someone asking, “Now what?”
Helping individuals and families answer that question is central to the mission of Private Wealth, a boutique financial advisory practice with offices in Ponte Vedra Beach and Boca Raton.
Private Wealth provides individualized financial planning and investment management services designed around each client’s financial circumstances, values and long-term objectives. The practice also assists clients in coordinating estate-planning and trust-related needs with their legal and tax professionals.
“People often seek financial advice only after a major life event has occurred,” said Robert R. Franskousky, managing principal and wealth advisor with Private Wealth. “Although it is never too late to ask for advice, it is usually better to have a financial roadmap in place before the unexpected happens.”
It’s not if, but when.
Preparing for Life’s Transitions
Private Wealth refers to significant financial and personal transitions as the “Now what?” moments of life. These may include:
“We know that most people will experience several major transitions during their lives,” Franskousky said. “What we do not know is which event will happen next or when it will occur. Thoughtful planning can help clients make better decisions when emotions and financial consequences are both significant.”
Franskousky describes his role as that of a “personal financial architect.”
“The foundation of our work includes mathematics and financial markets, but successful planning must also account for the person,” he said. “A financial recommendation may look optimal on paper, but it is not truly appropriate unless it reflects the client’s needs, experiences, concerns, values and goals.”
That personal approach is one reason Franskousky has developed an affinity for providing financial second opinions.
“People routinely seek second opinions about important medical decisions,” he said. “A second opinion can be equally valuable when someone is making a major decision involving retirement, investments, divorce, legacy planning, an inheritance or the financial security of a family.”
A boutique practice supported by a National Firm Securities and advisory services are offered through LPL Financial LLC, a registered investment adviser and broker-dealer and member of FINRA and SIPC.
Franskousky compares the relationship between an independent financial practice and LPL Financial to that of physicians practicing within a major hospital.
“The physicians provide specialized care, while the hospital supplies much of the infrastructure that allows them to perform their work,” he said. “Similarly, our advisers work directly with clients, while LPL provides technology, investment platforms, compliance resources, research, custody and other operational support.”
LPL Financial Holdings Inc. is publicly traded on Nasdaq under the symbol LPLA.
According to the company’s May 2026 activity report, LPL supported approximately $2.55 trillion in client assets as of May 31, 2026.
The scale and resources of LPL allow Private Wealth to maintain the personal character of a boutique practice while benefiting from the infrastructure of a national financial-services organization.
Relationships Come First
A typical day at Private Wealth begins with a team meeting focused on client needs and priorities. The team also reviews developments in financial markets and considers whether those developments may affect individual client plans.
“The most rewarding part of my work is building relationships,” Franskousky said. “It begins with listening — understanding a client’s point of view, challenges and objectives. From there, we collaborate to develop solutions that are specific to that individual or family.”
Franskousky emphasizes that financial planning is not a one-time transaction. It is an ongoing process that should evolve as a client’s life, family, career and priorities change.
“No one person can know everything, particularly when financial decisions involve investments, taxes, estate planning, insurance and family considerations,” he said. “A highly credentialed and qualified adviser can help bring those pieces together and coordinate with the client’s other professionals.”
