PVPV-Rawlings holds pep rally in anticipation of Turtle Trot
PVPV-Rawlings Elementary School students received a short break from classroom learning Sept. 28 to rally for the Turtle Trot, an annual event presented by the PTO and Coastal Luxury Outdoors that encourages fitness and exercise while raising funds to support the school. The pep rally was held to generate excitement for the Oct. 12 Turtle Trot and mark the kick-off to the two week long fundraising effort leading up to the event. This year, the school’s goal is to raise funds for upgrading technology in the media centers at both campuses and for purchasing printers and projectors for teachers and staff. The school also hopes to provide sports balls for each grade level and additional shade structures for both playgrounds, as well as generate enough funds to fulfill the requests of the art and music resource teachers. With funds being collecting through Oct. 13, children are encouraged to raise awareness of the program via social media outlets, with the help of their parents. Last year, through the help of social media and online donations, the school gathered support from over 20 countries.
