The PVPV/Rawlings PTO celebrated the opening of the school’s new playground with a ribbon cutting ceremony held Jan. 19.

Principal Caty Van Housen joined with PTO President Emily Stephens, teachers and school staff, and parents and students to officially cut the ribbon and break in the new equipment. Representatives from St. Johns County, school community partner Coastal Luxury Outdoors and playground equipment provider BYO were also on hand to mark the occasion.

The new playground was funded through donations raised at the school’s annual Turtle Trot fundraiser organized by the PTO and sponsored by Coastal Luxury Outdoors.

PTO volunteers worked with BYO to customize the playground to meet the needs of PVPV/Rawlings students.
