Red, and Blue, Coats help Pine Castle residents illuminate TPC Sawgrass

Tuesday night, Dec. 22, 10 Red Coats from THE PLAYERS, as well as vice-chairmen (Blue Coats), lined the clubhouse circle and driveway at TPC Sawgrass with 200 luminaries assembled by residents at Pine Castle, an organization that serves adults with intellectual and developmental differences and empowers them through opportunities to learn, work and connect.

After THE PLAYERS each year, the Red Coats distribute charitable proceeds from the tournament to various nonprofits in Northeast Florida.

The Red Coats and Blue Coats lead the 2,000-plus volunteers who make the PGA TOUR’s flagship event and its charitable impact possible.

Even though the 2020 PLAYERS Championship was cancelled following the first round of play due to health and safety threats posed by COVID-19, THE PLAYERS announced its unwavering commitment to serving and supporting the Northeast Florida community.

As part of the Red Coats’ $7,500 donation to Pine Castle in 2020, they decided to support the organization’s luminaria kit initiative, where each kit is assembled by a participant, and all proceeds from the luminaria kits go directly back to supporting Pine Castle’s mission.
