Revised Mickler’s Landing Beachfront Park public access set

Posted

Mickler’s Landing beach access will now be open to the public Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to sunset. On Saturday and Sunday, it will be open to the public sunrise to sunset. The hours were set in response to requests from the community. The St. Johns Board of County Commissioners directed the Mickler’s Landing Beachfront Park dune reconstruction schedule to be revised to allow daily public access.

Construction activity on the beach north of the park will continue while the park and parking lot are open. Activity related to the dune reconstruction project will occur in the park and parking lot from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday through Friday and will continue in a restricted portion of the parking lot through a secondary construction entrance from 11 a.m. to sunset Monday through Friday.

The amended schedule prioritizes public safety, while allowing the dune reconstruction project to proceed as expeditiously as possible. Alternate parking and public access to the beach are available at GTM Research Reserve, located three miles south of Mickler’s Landing Beachfront Park on Florida A1A.
