On Monday, the PGA Tour Boards approved Brian Rolapp as the next commissioner of the Tour, effective Jan. 1, 2027.
“In Brian, we have a proven leader who has quickly earned the trust and confidence of our boards and our membership,” said Joe Gorder, chairman of the PGA Tour Boards. “His vision, collaboration and leadership have strengthened our organization and earned the support of our boards to assume the role of commissioner.”
Rolapp, who was appointed CEO in June 2025 and began his tenure on July 28, 2025, will become the fifth commissioner in Tour history, joining Jay Monahan (2017-2026), Tim Finchem (1994-2016), Deane Beman (1974-1994) and Joe Dey (1969-1974).
“I am grateful for the trust the boards have placed in me and for the opportunity to serve the PGA Tour and our membership as commissioner,” said Rolapp. “Over the past year, we have made meaningful progress by prioritizing our fans and working collaboratively — with our players, our partners, our boards and the Future Competition Committee — to strengthen our foundation and shape what comes next.”
Monahan will conclude his tenure as commissioner on Dec. 31, as previously scheduled.
“It has been an honor to serve as commissioner of the PGA Tour and to work alongside our players, partners and leadership team during a transformational period for our sport,” said Monahan. “The progress we have made was driven by a willingness to evolve and the shared commitment to do what is best for the future of the Tour. Brian is the right leader for this moment, and I am confident the PGA Tour’s best days are ahead.”
