Scouts adorn veterans’ graves for Memorial Day

Twenty-three members of Ponte Vedra Beach Boy Scout Troop 277 spent the first day of summer break completing a solemn and patriotic community service project recently.

Troop members reported to Jacksonville National Cemetery, where they assisted in placing American flags on the approximately 11,000 graves of local veterans and their family members. While completing their tasks, the scouts had time to read many of the markers and reflect upon the soldiers’ sacrifices. The scouts agreed they would like to make this an annual event for the troop.
