Senior Tutor expands into Jacksonville

Seniors looking to learn how to use technology to stay connected have a new local resource available: the Senior Tutor.

From smartphones and tablets to laptops and desktop computers, The Senior Tutor ( HYPERLINK "http://www.TheSeniorTutor.com" www.TheSeniorTutor.com) – also known as Marianne Bailey – teaches seniors how to stay connected through the latest technology. Programs taught include Facebook, Twitter, Skype, email, Microsoft programs and blogging programs. Bailey also teaches how to navigate the Internet, shop online, use online banking service and access medical records.

Senior Tutor services are provided in group settings at senior living facilities and senior centers as well as one on one. A Jacksonville native, Bailey recently returned to the area after providing similar services in Ohio.

“It’s nice to be back in my hometown where I grew up,” said Bailey, who previously worked as a trainer for Hewlett Packard. “It’s amazing to see the changes that Jacksonville has gone through. I hardly recognize the city anymore – thank goodness for GPS on my smartphone!”

In addition to technology tutoring, Bailey also is available to speak to local groups.

“I’m really looking forward to getting involved in the senior communities in Jacksonville,” she said. “It just made sense to ‘come home.’
