Shady Rest Alpacas plans Galentine’s, Valentine’s events

Shady Rest Alpacas is a cute and cozy alpaca farm located in Jacksonville. The owner, Trina Hope, said she first fell in love with alpacas on a trip to Martha’s Vineyard.

After two years of studying them, she was able to bring them to her farm. She now owns eight male alpacas and enjoys hosting tours and educating guests about sustainable farming. Hope said that the tours are typically small groups so that every guest has a chance to participate and feed the alpacas.
Shady Rest Alpacas also hosts a lot of fun events throughout the year including their upcoming Galentine’s event at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 14. This fun morning outing includes a mini brunch, mimosas, photo ops and a tour of the farm. The cost is $30 per person. It’s simple, fun and a great way to make new friends, Hope said.
Each year, the farm hosts different events for Valentine’s Day. This year, the farm will also host a kids’ Valentine’s party at 2 p.m. Feb. 8 where they can make their own cards for family and friends and enjoy getting to visit the alpacas. There will be snacks, and the cost is $18 a person. For more details, stay tuned to their Facebook page.
Shady Rest Alpacas is also the perfect venue to host your event! The farm hosts field trips, birthday parties, micro-weddings, bridal showers, baby showers and homeschool groups. Hope said that the best way to stay informed about upcoming events is to follow Shady Rest Alpacas on Facebook and @shadyrestalpacas on Instagram. The best way to book is to call or dm.
