Sisterhood of the Traveling Plants draws nearly 60 people for ‘Springtime at Downton’ event

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Plants returned to the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library on Friday for its “Springtime at Downton” event.

Drawing nearly 60 people, the event featured 18 flower arrangements, several of which were created live in front of attendees by the Sisterhood. The Sisterhood is comprised of Cathy Snyder and Marilyn Smith.

The event also included discussion about the forthcoming "Downton Abbey" movie due out in September 2019, as well as flower arranging tips and more.

Each chair was adorned with a reading list of both flower arranging and "Downton Abbey" books owned by the St. Johns County Public Library System. The event concluded with the popular raffle allowing many attendees to win arrangements and, in some cases, multiple arrangements.

The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library.
