SJCSD to open high school facilities to community during summer

Posted

Ponte Vedra High School is among five county high schools that will open their facilities to the public on select Wednesday evenings this summer.

In addition to PVHS, outdoor facilities at Bartram Trail, Creekside, Pedro Menendez and St. Augustine high schools will be open from 6 to 8 p.m. June 21 and 28, as well as July 12, 19 and 26. At these times, the public will have full access to the tennis courts, track and outdoor basketball courts. Access to gymnasiums, stadium fields, batting cages and baseball fields, however, is prohibited. Pets are also not permitted at the schools’ facilities.

“Once again, we have the opportunity to open our high school campuses to the community so that they can enjoy another recreational option during the summer,” Superintendent Tim Forson said. “I hope that St. Johns County residents of all ages come out every Wednesday to enjoy the facilities.”

Facilities at Allen D. Nease High School will not be available due to ongoing construction.
