With support from Old Town Trolley Tours and Ripley’s Red Train Tours, the city of St. Augustine will once again offer a free park-and-ride shuttle Monday, July 4, during “Fireworks Over the Matanzas.”
The shuttles will run from 6 p.m. to midnight, operating out of select parking locations along Anastasia Boulevard. They are:
Meanwhile, for those on the west side of the bay, parking in city-owned lots and in on-street spaces is free. This doesn’t pertain to the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument lot or the Historic Downtown Parking Facility.
The latter, at 1 Cordova St., offers parking for $15 per car, per entry. For those with the ParkNow Card, the charge is $3.
Furthermore, there will be no access to the Castillo lot between 6 p.m. and about 11 p.m.
Motorists are cautioned not to park in a private lot, as towing may be enforced by the owner.
Rerouting of traffic on city streets begins at 8 p.m. At that time, vehicular traffic will be prohibited on the Bridge of Lions, Avenida Menendez, South Castillo Drive and Cathedral Place. Traffic is expected to resume on the bridge at about 11 p.m.
