2021 St. Johns County annual beach driving passes available

St. Johns County on-beach driving passes are available for purchase and make great stocking stuffers for the holiday season. St. Johns County resident passes cost $50, non-resident passes cost $100, and accessible passes cost $40. In addition, all 2020 annual on-beach driving passes have been extended through the 2021 beach season. If you have purchased a 2020 on-beach driving pass, retain your sticker, as it cannot be replaced and will require a purchase of a new pass. Only St. Johns County residents are permitted to do business at the St. Johns County Tax Collector’s offices at this time. Passes will be available during normal business hours at the following locations:

■ St. Johns County Ocean and Fishing Pier Gift Shop – 350 A1A Blvd., St. Augustine

■ Tax Collector’s Main Office – 4030 Lewis Speedway, St. Augustine

■ Tax Collector’s DuPont Center – 6658 U.S. 1 South, St. Augustine

■ Tax Collector’s Julington Creek Office – 725 Flora Branch Blvd., St. Johns

■ Tax Collector’s Ponte Vedra Office – 151 Sawgrass Corners Drive, Suite 100, Ponte Vedra Beach

Residents must present a valid ID with a St. Johns County address or present proof of property tax payments in St. Johns County to purchase a resident pass. Vehicles accessing the beach do not need a beach pass until March 1. After March 1, beach passes will be available at the tollbooths. For more information, call (904) 209-0344.

 

St. Johns River Water Management District Public Hearing December 16

The St. Johns River Water Management District is holding a virtual public hearing on Dec.16 to take public comment on its draft 10-year land management plan for the Julington-Durbin Preserve, located in Duval and St. Johns counties. The public hearing begins at 6 p.m., and comments may be made orally or in writing through the virtual platform, by mail to Land Resource Specialist Brent Bachelder, St. Johns River Water Management District, P.O. Box 1429, Palatka, FL 32178-1429, or by email to bbachelder@sjrwmd.com. Comments should be received by Dec. 16.
