The Ponte Vedra Sharks and the Nease Panthers had a bye week on Friday, Oct. 3; however, there was still plenty of high school football action to go around.

The Beachside Barracudas celebrated senior night while also taking on the Tocoi Creek Toros. Beachside defeated Tocoi Creek 45-14, putting their record at 5-1.

The Barracudas marched down the field first with a couple of big first downs from seniors Drew Watson and Maddox Hunstad before Vincent Galella scored the touchdown making the score 7-0. The Toros answered with a touchdown of their own tying up the score heading into the second quarter. The rest of the half was uneventful other than a field goal from the Barracudas. However, after half time Tyler Richardson picked off Tocoi’s quarterback and brought the ball all the way to the 3rd yard line setting up first and goal for the Barracudas.

Beachside was in control for the remainder of the game with Galella scoring three more touchdowns. He had 123 yards on the night. The Barracudas will be home this Friday, Oct. 10, to take on the Fleming Island Golden Eagles.

The Creekside Knights were also in the win column defeating the Golden Eagles 30-27. The Knights have won three of their last four games putting their current record at 3-4. Their recent success is thanks in large part to their offense as they have been improving each week. Creekside will be at home on Friday, Oct. 10, as they take on the Atlantic Coast Stingrays.
