St. Johns County seeks applications for boards and committees

St. Johns County is currently accepting applications for multiple boards and committees. The county is seeking volunteers for the following positions:

Architectural Review Committee (3):

Purpose of committee: To ensure enhanced property development while maintaining and encouraging quality character of design within the Ponte Vedra and Ponte Vedra/Palm Valley Overlay Districts in line with the goals and objectives of the St. Johns County Comprehensive Plan.

Qualifications – seeking applicants who:

are a registered architect in the State of Florida or a retired architect formerly registered in the State of Florida and residing within the Ponte Vedra Zoning District

reside in District 4 and within the Ponte Vedra Zoning District

reside in District 4 but outside of the Ponte Vedra Zoning District (alternate member position)

Term: Regular members as well as alternates serve a term of four years.

Meeting schedule: This committee meets every fourth Wednesday of each month from 5 to 8:30 p.m. in the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library.

Application submission deadline: July 20, 2016

West Augustine Nuisance Abatement Board (3):


Purpose of committee: To conduct hearings regarding complaints of public nuisance within the West Augustine CRA. Promote, protect and improve the health, safety and welfare of the citizens and businesses within the West Augustine Community Revitalization Area (CRA).

Qualifications: Applicants must be a county resident for at least one year, 18 years or older, residing within or operating a business within the West Augustine CRA.

Term: Regular members as well as alternates serve a term of four years.

Meeting schedule: This board meets quarterly.
