The Jacksonville Symphony will open its 75th anniversary season with a performance of Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 2, “Resurrection,” at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at Jacoby Symphony Hall.
Under the direction of Music Director Courtney Lewis, the concert will feature internationally acclaimed opera singers soprano Ailyn Pérez and mezzo-soprano Isabel Leonard, along with more than 150 choral voices from the Jacksonville Symphony Chorus, the University of North Florida Chorale and the Jacksonville University Singers.
This year also marks the 40th anniversary of the Jacksonville Symphony Chorus, another milestone of the 2024-25 season.
Pérez and Leonard, both celebrated around the world for their powerful performances, will join the symphony in this one-night-only event. Leonard was featured in Bradley Cooper’s 2023 film, “Maestro,” performing this same piece.
Complimentary champagne will be served in the lobby prior to the concert. VIP packages, which include a pre-concert cocktail reception, premium seating, an elegant post-concert dinner, open bar and valet parking are also available.
