When Tabitha Furyk arrived at Underwood’s Jewelers for the annual PGA TOUR Wives Association luncheon last week, she had no idea that one of the pieces of jewelry on display had a special connection to her.

Furyk – who is the recipient of this year’s Rock of the Community Award from the Rotary Club of Ponte Vedra Beach – learned that Underwood’s and jewelry designers Lucy Price and Kimberly Gibson were donating a necklace from the duo’s Dao Fournier jewelry collection in her honor as a silent auction item at the Rotary Club’s Mineral City Celebration. Furyk will receive her award at the May 9 charity gala to be held at the Sawgrass Marriott.

“I’m absolutely honored that they would even think of doing that,” said a surprised
Furyk, noting that she came to the event not only to support the PGA TOUR Wives Association but also Underwood’s Jewelers. “I love everything we do with Underwood’s – they have been such a big supporter” of the Jim and Tabitha Furyk Foundation.

Lucy Price – the wife of PGA Tour golfer Aron Price – said she and her sister were only too happy to donate the $575 necklace when she learned that Furyk was this year’s honoree for her many charitable endeavors through the Jim and Tabitha Furyk Foundation.

“I can’t think of anyone more passionate about helping others or more deserving of being honored by the community than Tabitha,” Lucy Price said.

Underwood’s General Manager John Rutkowski agreed. “I would support any award that honors Tabitha,” he said. “We have been partners with her foundation for many years.”
