Underwood’s hosts luncheon, jewelry preview for PGA golfers’ wives

While their husbands were preparing for THE PLAYERS Championship, PGA golfers’ wives were treated to a special luncheon and jewelry collection preview at Underwood’s Jewelers in Ponte Vedra Beach last week.

Approximately two dozen players’ wives attended the event, which featured luncheon provided by nearby Table 1 and the chance to view the Dao Fournier jewelry collection. The jewelry itself, in fact, has a PGA connection: Designer Lucy Price is the wife of PGA Tour golfer Aron Price. She and her twin sister, Kimberly Gibson, created the Dao Fournier collection and thought PLAYERS week would be an ideal time to share their pieces with players’ wives.

“Underwood’s carries our collection all year long,” said Price, who noted this was the third year the Ponte Vedra jewelers had hosted the luncheon. “With TPC Sawgrass and THE PLAYERS right in Underwood’s back yard, we thought this would be a great way to bring together some of my friends and to benefit charity.”As part of a special Mother’s Day promotion, Price said, 10 percent of all sales made at the luncheon and during the previous week benefited the PGA Tour Wives Association.

Born in Thailand and raised in the United States, Price and Gibson grew up surrounded by gemstones in their parents’ jewelry boutique. In 2006, the sisters returned to Thailand to study at the Gemological Institute of America. Following their graduation, the duo spent the next four years designing Dao Fournier, which takes its name from the sisters’ middle names and pays tribute to their Thai and French Canadian heritage.

The collection features bold, geometric designs featuring diamonds, yellow and white gold, quartz and more.
