Underwood’s hosts PGA Tour Wives Association luncheon

While THE PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP ended after only one round of play last week, many of the social traditions surrounding the tournament occurred as planned – including the annual luncheon and charity jewelry show for the PGA Tour Wives Association.

Approximately two dozen players’ wives attended the March 11 gathering at Underwood’s Jewelers that featured a buffet luncheon and the chance to view the store’s jewelry collections. A special focus of the event was the opportunity to view and purchase jewelry from the Dao Fournier jewelry collection, which has a PGA Tour connection of its own: Lucy Price – who designs the line with her twin sister, Kimberly Gibson  – is married to golfer Aron Price and a member of the PGA Tour Wives Association.

A portion of the proceeds from the event benefited the association’s charitable activities, which complement the charitable focus of THE PLAYERS Championship.

“THE PLAYERS Championship does so much for our community,” Underwood’s General Manager John Rutkowski said. “At Underwood’s, we embrace it and we feel so fortunate to host this luncheon and to help raise money for the PGA Tour Wives Association.”
