UNF holds Food Fort competition to benefit Lend-A-Wing Pantry
The Food Fort competition, held annually during Homecoming Week to raise awareness and generate support for the University of North Florida’s (UNF) Lend-A-Wing Pantry, was held Tuesday, Feb. 13, in Osprey Plaza, outside of the Student Union. Students collected canned goods and non-perishable items and competed in teams to build a structure with their provisions. Points were awarded in several categories including number of items, creativity and use of the “Nest Fest” theme. After the competition, items were donated to Lend-A-Wing Pantry, a student-run agency designed to combat food insecurity and provide basic essentials to students in need.
