People who have the time and interest are encouraged to lend their talents and resources to benefit seniors in St. Johns County through the Council on Aging. Ponte Vedra Beach: A Dining Room Ambassador is needed on Thursdays from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at The PLAYERS Community Senior Center. The role is for a "people-person," someone who is outgoing, friendly, and a great listener. Some of the duties include: refilling coffee and condiments; passing out supplies for activities; communicating information to speakers and new members; mingling with members and gathering feedback.
Ponte Vedra Beach: Get the party started! Become the new Party Event Assistant, enhancing parties by working directly with the Coordinator. If you enjoy creating, crafts, and Pinterest, this role could be for you. Create party platters from a Pinterest idea. Run errands to pick up items. Prepare party trays. Help with craft ideas and set up for the party. The Party Event Assistant will serve 1 to 3 times a month at The PLAYERS Community Senior Center.
St. Johns County, FL - Engineer our plan. Volunteers are needed throughout St. Johns County to preview home repairs in area seniors' homes. This service would be with COA’s Care Connection program to determine the manpower hours that will be needed. The schedule is flexible.
St. Augustine, FL - Brighten the day of seniors with memory problems. Volunteers are needed to assist staff at COA's Sunshine Center. You could help with activities such as games, exercise, arts & crafts, and music therapy, as well as serving snacks, lunch and clean up. Openings are available on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, 1 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.; Friday mornings 9:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. are also available.
Ponte Vedra Beach: Make lunch with love. Volunteers are needed for The PLAYERS Community Senior Center kitchen. Duties will include light prep, assembling salads and condiments, plating lunch, and wiping down counter tops and steam table. Openings are available on Thursdays, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., with those times being somewhat flexible.
