Watson Realty Corp. Founder and Chairman William Watson Jr. was recently inducted into the Sigma Nu Hall of Fame.

Watson was inducted July 2 during the fraternity’s 67th Grand Chapter gathering, held at the Manchester Grand Hyatt hotel in San Diego. He joins other distinguished alumni of the fraternity to be so honored, including Harrison Ford, Eli Manning, Bear Bryant and Bob Barker.

“I am honored and flattered to receive the Hall of Fame recognition from Sigma Nu National,” Watson said. “The Sigma Nu Fraternity has been very important to me and my success in my life and in my business.”

A graduate of Stetson University, Watson was inducted into the Delta Mu chapter during his undergraduate years and has remained an active member of the organization. In 1965, he founded Watson Realty Corp., which in 2015 celebrated its 50th anniversary. Serving North and Central Florida as well as South Georgia, Watson Realty Corp. has 46 sales offices and achieved more than $3 billion in real estate sales last year.

Headquartered in Lexington, Virginia, Sigma Nu Fraternity was founded in 1869 at Virginia Military Institute. The fraternity currently has 163 chapters and colonies, and has initiated more than 235,000 members since its founding.

“We are very appreciative of Mr. Watson’s belief in and support of our mission to develop ethical leaders for tomorrow,” said Brad L. Hastings, Sigma Nu Educational Foundation president. “He has given generously of his time and resources to the Delta Mu Chapter and it has made a lasting impact on the men of the chapter over the years.”
