The Women’s Food Alliance (WFA) is maneuvering the tides of change as they survey the hospitality landscape of 2026 with the diversity of careers and cultures for women. Celebrating its 13th anniversary through the sprawling panorama of options and talents, WFA nurtures and supports strides made and successes yet to come. The future in hospitality reveals promising trends, as WFA expands its Leadership Council to stand together through enduring challenges and discover opportunities as a “sorority” of business leaders.
The hospitality industry offers a vibrant, colorful career path. Navigating this path can come with challenges. Led by founder Leigh Cort, the Women’s Food Alliance is and has been, since 2013, dedicated to empowering members and providing them with connections, opportunities and tools needed to advance.
Continuous learning and networking are essential. Through the members’ eyes and experiences, building a strong, caring network opens doors to new ideas, industry knowledge and support from peers. It’s simple: engage with industry associates, attend meetings and events — plus participate (show up). Sharing trends, technologies and customer feedback is crucial to staying ahead with an open mind.
Through the years, Women’s Food Alliance members have become trusted mentors, which plays a pivotal role in career growth. Mentors understand many obstacles; fostering a supportive organization is vital to thriving and achievement.
The Women’s Food Alliance is celebrating its 13th Anniversary with the newly appointed First Coast Leadership Council 2026-27. One of the foremost networking organizations for hospitality women in Southeast, it’s comprised of 10 professional hospitality women who share their time, talent, cultural heritage, career diversity, creative ideas and positive spirit.

How we spend our time is of vital importance, and when spending time inside and outside of business, WFA has made it a joy for so many, including myself. In addition to the invaluable networking system this organization provides, WFA always keeps the door wide open to access friendships, engagements and celebration. We celebrate each other as businesswomen, leaders in the industry and as women. What sets WFA apart is how obvious our value as individuals matter.
