ABET to present 'Celebration: An Avant-Garde Musical Fable’

The Atlantic Beach Experimental Theater (ABET) will depict the story of two unlikely characters who cross paths in unexpected ways when it presents “Celebration: An Avant-Garde Musical Fable.”

On New Year’s Eve, a young orphan stumbles into the home of the richest man in the world, whose bizarre entourage includes a beautiful fallen angel. With the orphan’s help, the jaded Mr. Rich regains his humanity, only to find himself locked in ritualistic battle with the youth for the angel’s love. The musical stars Milan Alley, Franklin Ritch, Katherine Herndon and Leonard Alterman, and features Brian Keith Champion, Lucas Hopper, Matt Krieger, Kimberly Cooper York, Sara Beth Sohn, Amy Tillotson and Laurel Wilson.

Dave Alan Thomas will direct the production, which is based on the book and lyrics by Tom Jones featuring music by Harvey Schmidt. Musical direction will be by Robin Brazelton with choreography by Katie Raulerson,
