The Ponte Vedra Beach Rotary Club Sunset inducted its first corporate member last week, welcoming Arbor Terrace Ponte Vedra to its membership at the club’s Jan. 3 meeting.
Arbor Terrace was represented at the induction ceremony by Senior Care Counselor Ilene Thrasher, who along with Executive Director John Schaum may now participate in all of the club’s activities.
The 2016 Rotary Council on Legislation granted clubs greater flexibility in setting their membership rules and requirements, including allowing corporate memberships that would enable several named designees to attend meetings, participate in projects and vote on club motions.
Guest speaker at the meeting was Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Detective Larry Baker, who discussed what to do during an active shooter situation.
