The U9 Pretty Fierce girls’ soccer team recently won the 3v3 U9 National Championships held at the ESPN Wild World of Sports.

Coached by Frank Bunton and Sam Wooten, the team had an undefeated tournament season going into the championships. Competition at the national level was fierce, team members said, with the semi-finals going to Golden Goal (1st goal wins) in overtime. In the finals, the team secured the championship with a 5-1 victory. The team only allowed four goals to be scored on them throughout the entire tournament.

The U9 Pretty Fierce team is comprised of three Ponte Vedra Soccer Club players – Abigail W., Olivia B., and Alia S. – and three Clay County Soccer Club players, Brooke B., Faith S., and Kirra D.
