Bolles students breathe life into figures of history with ‘live wax museum’

Second grade Bolles students recently brought history to life with the school’s annual live wax museum performance at the Bolles Lower School Ponte Vedra Beach Campus.

The students presented the performance March 15, the culmination of weeks of biographical research on famous historical figures. Since early January, students had been extensively studying historical figures they selected to learn more about, with findings including childhood interests and notable achievements. They then painted portraits of their subjects in art class, and considered how they might portray that figure onstage by writing scripts and developing costumes and props.

That work finally came to life with a colorful and informative live wax museum show directed by music teacher Stacey Posick. Characters included Sacagawea, Martin Luther King, Jr. and Steve Jobs. A total of 28 students participated in the show.
