PZA meeting concerning Ponte Vedra resort proposal rescheduled

A key meeting concerning a proposed planned unit development (PUD) in Ponte Vedra Beach has been rescheduled.

The St. Johns County Planning and Zoning Agency (PZA) public hearing for PUD 2023-02 Ponte Vedra Resort will be held Sept. 21 at the request of the applicant, Ponte Vedra Corp. This meeting will begin at 11 a.m. in the St. Johns County Auditorium, located at 500 San Sebastian View.

This item had been scheduled to appear before the PZA on Thursday, Aug. 17. That would have made it the first time the presentation would be heard by the public, but that will no longer be the case.

The change is the latest in a reshuffling of meetings after turnout for a July 26 meeting of the Ponte Vedra/Palm Valley Architectural Review Committee was so great that it caused an overflow of the meeting space and forced officials to reschedule.

This PUD proposal is still scheduled to appear before the Ponte Vedra/Palm Valley Architectural Review Committee at 5 p.m. Sept. 6 in the Sawgrass Marriott Champions Room, located at 1000 TPC Blvd., Ponte Vedra Beach.

It will also appear during the Ponte Vedra Zoning and Adjustment Board meeting scheduled for 11 a.m. Sept. 11 in the St. Johns County Auditorium.

The proposal could ultimately be placed on the Nov. 7 agenda of the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners, though no time for that has yet been set.
