Commercial real estate firm Franklin Street and its North Florida office recently donated $6,000 to fund a scholarship for two siblings with special needs who require financial assistance to attend Daniel Academy in the 2018-2019 school year.

Daniel Academy is a K-6 elementary school operated by Daniel Kids, Florida’s oldest child-serving nonprofit. The academy is designed to meet the needs of children with learning disabilities and emotional challenges through low student-teacher ratios, enriching curriculum and on-site therapy services.

Franklin Street’s Jacksonville office has raised a total of almost $10,000 for Daniel Kids over the last two years. The company hit a fundraising record this year with 100 percent participation from its local team, which earned the firm even more in corporate matching funds.

“We are pleased to provide this much-needed funding and support for our favorite local child-serving organization – Daniel Kids,” said Yvonne Baker, regional managing partner for Franklin Street. “Our team worked diligently to raise and contribute these funds, and we’re looking forward to the impact it will make. We’re constantly humbled and impressed by the service and care Daniel Kids provides its residents and children in need.”

In addition to raising money, local Franklin Street employees have spent more than 80 cumulative hours working with teenagers at Daniel Kids, as well as volunteered at the nonprofit’s play days.
