Landscaping donation beautifies Palm Valley Community Center

The Palm Valley Community Center’s grounds will be beautified thanks to a significant landscaping gift from Kathy’s Creative Gardens and Nursery.

Kathy Esfahani, a certified master gardener, welcomed the opportunity to donate her talents and resources to such a high-profile location in Palm Valley

"I’m a very community-minded person,” Esfahani said, “and saw the task of beautifying the community center property as a wonderful way to show my community spirit and say thank you to the neighborhood who has shown such support for my business.”

Home to the Palm Valley Community Association, the community center has been a gathering place for Palm Valley residents for nearly 70 years. The community association maintains four standing committees: Growth and Traffic Management, Community Communications, Special Events and Beautification. While the Beautification Committee is actively working on other projects, beautification of the community center grounds was the top priority.

Deborah Lamir, president of the PVCA, was excited when first told of the donation offer.

“As a nonprofit community group, we are dependent on the financial donations and volunteerism of local residents and businesses to enhance the quality of life in our community,” Lamir said. “Kathy has made a significant statement of her commitment to ‘keep Palm Valley special’ through her generous gift.”

Founded in 1948, the PVCA is one of the oldest continually operating community associations in North Florida. The group works to represent the common interests and shared views of all members of the greater Northeastern St. Johns County area.
