Local art company raises money for charities

Art 4 Charities, a Ponte Vedra-based company that partners with nonprofits, helped raise funds for numerous local charities and organizations over the past year-and-a-half.

Those nonprofits include Alpha Omega Miracle Home, Ayla’s Acres, Clarke Schools for Hearing and Speech, Crosswater Community Church, Dreams Come True of Jacksonville, Learn To Read of St. Johns County, Mission House, PACT Prevention Coalition, the Rotary Club of Ponte Vedra Beach, Save Guana Now, St. Augustine Youth Services, Vilano Beach Main Street and The First Tee.

“I worked with nonprofits for over 20 years in North Florida and realize how challenging it can be to raise the funds needed to meet the goals of the organization,” said Diane Machaby, director of charity fundraising for Art 4 Charities. “My husband and I try to make the fundraising and holding events as easy as we possibly can for the charity.”

Art 4 Charities sells reproductions of famous artwork and photography to people around the world, with a substantial portion of the proceeds benefiting charities. The nonprofit agencies agree to inform their supporters and the general public about Art 4 Charities raising funds for them, and in turn, the organizations receive 40 percent of the proceeds of any sales designated to them.

Mission House was the first charity in North Florida to partner with Art 4 Charities.

“Art 4 Charities is such a wonderful and practical opportunity for Mission House,” said Lori Anderson, executive director of Mission House. “The selection of art is wonderful, and Diane and Terry are so generous to do this. We are so blessed to be a part of this project that will assist us in our efforts to assist those who find themselves homeless to obtain a roof over their head.”

Art 4 Charities is currently in the process of organizing live and silent art auctions at local restaurants and golf and country clubs to benefit various charities. Art auctions can also be held by supporters of charities in their homes or at their businesses, clubhouses, churches or community centers to help raise funds to support a charity of their choice.
