A popular St. Augustine ice cream shop is getting a new home north of its original stomping grounds.
Mayday Handcrafted Ice Creams featuring unique and innovative flavors is already a hit across Florida, with popular shops in Tampa, Lakeland and Jacksonville Beach. The newest spot is nestled in the bustling St. Johns Town Center, a mecca for shopping, fine dining and entertainment.
Mayday’s most recent location features something a little extra special.
“This company was born in my hometown of St. Augustine, just down the road from Jacksonville,” said owner Stephen DiMare. “St. Augustine has a really great community of small business owners that thrive and work together well. I’ve been a fan of DOS Coffee & Wine for a while now, and with us opening this new shop in Town Center, it seemed like a perfect fit to share the space and offer two great treats — ice cream and coffee. Not just any ice cream and coffee, but the best around!”
Mayday Handcrafted Ice Creams and DOS Coffee & Wine are celebrating their new venture with a grand opening week from Monday, Oct. 16, through Friday, Oct. 20. Mayday will be scooping up a limited-edition special-release flavor: Marbled Strawberry Matcha!
“We’re really excited for this new opening,” said DiMare. “Town Center has a great energy about it. It’s definitely a place where people take their time and enjoy all it has to offer. Having a spot where people can relax while shopping or cap off a night out with some amazing ice cream and a great cup of coffee – it’s going to be a homerun experience.”
The new Mayday Handcrafted Ice Creams store is located at 4853 Big Island Drive No. 3, Jacksonville. It will be open noon to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and noon to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
