As Bette Midler returns to Broadway in the title role of “Hello, Dolly!,” First Coast residents will have a chance to see a local production of the award-winning musical.

Northeast Florida Conservatory Theatre will present its production of “Hello, Dolly!” April 21-23 and 28-30 at the conservatory, located at 1363 San Jose Blvd., Building 200 in Jacksonville. Conservatory voice teacher Regina Torres will star in the production as Mrs. Dolly Levi. A veteran of many musical performances in Jacksonville and St. Augustine, Torres was most recently seen as Ursula in “The Little Mermaid” at Theatre Jacksonville.

Mark Snitzer will portray Horace Vandergelder, the cranky “half-millionaire” from Yonkers, New York on whom matchmaker Dolly sets her sights. A native of Buffalo, New York, Snitzer appeared as Tevye in NFC Theatre’s first production, “Fiddler on the Roof.”

Founded by Executive Director Richard A. Dickson, the nonprofit conservatory offers programs for band, orchestra, theatre and art, along with free music lessons for children in need as part of Laura’s Friends.

Tickets are $20 for “Hello, Dolly!” which will feature live orchestra music. Tickets can be purchased at www.showtix.now or by calling (904) 374-8639. Free parking is available.
