Ponte Vedra High School students step up for pets

Posted

Students from Ponte Vedra High School are providing the people power needed to support pet owners challenged by the rising costs of pet food.

A pet food drive is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at Paradise Poochie, located in the Riverside Plaza, 280 State Road 312, St. Augustine.

This pet food drive is a win-win for students, pets and pet owners. Students from Ponte Vedra High receive community service hours, pets receive much-needed nutrition and owners receive relief from worrying about how they will adequately provide food for their pets.

To help out, simply purchase some pet food inside the store and leave it with the students in front of the store on your way out.

All donated food will be added to the St. Augustine Humane Society’s Pet Food Pantry and will be made available free of charge to pet owners in need. The Pet Food Pantry is open every Friday and is located at 1665 Old Moultrie Rd in St. Augustine.
