Sunset Rotary awards ‘Service Above Self’ scholarships

The Rotary Club of Ponte Vedra Beach Sunset recently presented two local high school seniors with the club’s annual “Service About Self Scholarship Award.”

Sarah Jacobs received the award for Nease High School. The daughter of Ken and Allison Jacobs, she plans to attend Duke University in the fall to study the history, culture and languages of the Middle East.

Adam Snowden received the award for Ponte Vedra High School. The son of Dr. Todd and Dr. Catherine Snowden, he will also attend Duke University in the fall, with plans to study medicine and pursue a career in medical research.

Rotary’s “Service Above Self Scholarship Award” recognizes local high school students for achieving a high level of academic success and showing leadership and initiative in serving their community.
