Air Van, Inc. has been awarded the 2025 Florida Trucking Association (FTA) Fleet Safety Award in the Truckload Under 10 Million Miles category. This reflects the company’s commitment to protecting drivers, customers and communities through exceptional safety practices on every mile traveled.

The Fleet Safety Awards, administered by the Florida Trucking Association’s Safety and Management Council, are among the most competitive honors in the state. Winners are chosen through a rigorous evaluation of the past two years of DOT recordable accidents, crash frequency and the overall number of Florida miles driven.

“Fleet Safety Awards are not an easy achievement,” said Kelly McDowell, chair of the FTA Safety and Management Council. “To receive an award, a company must rely on the driving records and accident history of all its drivers. Receiving such an award requires a singular goal and commitment to safety that is evident throughout all departments of a company.”

Alix Miller, FTA president and CEO, added, “We commend all the applicants for their commitment to safety, as the tough competition showcases the dedication our member companies have to keeping roads safe in Florida and across the country.”

Chip Matthews, owner of Air Van, Inc., expressed his gratitude for the recognition.

“We are beyond humbled and incredibly excited to receive this award,” he said. “Safety has always been at the core of who we are as a company, and this recognition reflects the dedication of every single team member — from our drivers to our operations staff — who make safety a daily priority. This award belongs to them.”

The 2025 Fleet Safety Award further cements Air Van’s reputation as a leader in the transportation industry, committed to delivering excellence while ensuring the highest safety standards on the road.
