Kasey Faver’s business, Lafavre, has become a leader in Southern streetwear apparel. Look for the Lafavre brand when visiting The PGA TOUR Fan Shop during THE PLAYERS Championship.
Tell us about your business. What is your position and what are your responsibilities?
Position and Responsibilities: I am the CEO/owner and creative director of Lafavre. My responsibilities range from overseeing day-to-day operations and payroll to conceptualizing designs and leading creative direction for each campaign. I work closely with my team to bring ideas to life — from initial concept and sourcing materials to marketing strategy and final production. Much of my role centers around translating my crazy late-night ideas in my brain into tangible products while ensuring our brand story remains cohesive and authentic.
Little about Lafavre: Lafavre was established in 2018, starting where many great businesses do — my home garage. The name “Lafavre” comes from my family’s French surname, later Americanized to Faver. At the time, I was still working in construction and packing orders during my lunch breaks. By 2022, I realized this vision could become reality, so I stepped away from construction to focus entirely on building Lafavre.
The South Got Something To Say: Inspired by vintage style and the American manufacturing story, Lafavre is the beginning of a fresh take on old tradition. Hard work and hospitality run deep in the roots of the South, and these ideals are core to Lafavre and its products. While American manufacturing is a big part of what sets Lafavre apart from its competitors, we exist to tell a greater story of quality, craft and coolness. We are here to show people that a Southern design house can thrive in a world of luxury. From Seed to Sew.
What do you like best about what you do?
What I enjoy most is the creative process — taking something that exists only in my mind and watching it come to life through design, fabric and storytelling.
Seeing customers connect emotionally to something we’ve created is incredibly rewarding.
What is a typical day like for you?
A typical day starts with walking my boys to school before heading to our office. Most mornings begin with a team meeting to review current campaigns and align on priorities. From there, my day often includes meetings for ongoing and upcoming collaborations, sourcing American-made fabrics, refining marketing strategies and conceptualizing future collections. Every day balances creativity with operational leadership.
Tell us about your background.
I am a born and raised in Palm Valley boy, where my family has lived for generations. That deep sense of heritage and generational pride has greatly influenced Lafavre’s identity. Growing up, my father took me to SEC Championship games, where I developed a love for university pride and sports culture. My mom would take me back-to-school shopping, always going to Football Fanatics, never missing a chance to pick up my favorite jersey — I rarely took it off.
I went to the University of Florida and graduated with a construction management degree as my father has a growing construction business himself. I always had that little kid in the back of my mind that loved streetwear fashion and sports, wanting to bring those two worlds together, but I didn’t think it could be a possibility and should just stick to the status quo.
Tell us about your journey from this area to California and back.
I am actually a fifth generation Palm Valley boy, my sons are now the sixth generation — a legacy that means a great deal to me. After graduating from college with a degree in construction management, I followed in my father’s footsteps and began working in the construction industry. I spent time in Orlando, where I was part of the team that helped build the Avatar attraction, and later moved to San Francisco to continue working in construction.
It was in California that I began pursuing my interest in fashion more seriously — cold-calling brands and showing up eager to learn and get involved. When those opportunities didn’t materialize, I decided to create my own. I moved back to Jacksonville while expecting my first son and began building what started as “Beyond The Palms,” which has since evolved into Lafavre.
What do you like best about living here?
I love the sense of community and tradition. There’s a strong appreciation for hard work, family and pride in where you come from — values that align perfectly with Lafavre.
How do you like to spend your free time?
When the workday ends, I love winding down with my family. Most evenings, you’ll find me outside throwing the ball with my oldest until it’s too dark to see. Weekends are spent with my wife and our two boys — usually at a baseball field or basketball court somewhere. I never imagined I’d be the dad pacing the sidelines, biting my nails during every play — but here I am, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. And every now and then, a nice dinner out with my wife is always a plus — just time to unwind, reconnect and talk.
