Arts Collective Theatre invites audiences to experience Christmas through the power of music, community and heart with “Season of Soul,” an original holiday concert created and conceived by Managing Artistic Director Lee Hamby and Musical Director John White. The show runs Dec. 4 through 12 at Arts Collective Theatre, 6701 Beach Blvd.. Jacksonville.
Blending gospel, R&B, Motown, jazz and classic soul, “Season of Soul” reimagines beloved Christmas favorites with rich harmonies, joyful rhythms and stories that speak to the spirit of the season. From moments of powerful praise to feel-good grooves, the ensemble of vocalists and musicians captures the heart of the holidays: love, gratitude, resilience and togetherness.
“Christmas has always had a soundtrack in my life. ‘Season of Soul’ is my way of sharing those songs, those memories and that feeling with everyone," said Hamby. “This show is our gift to Jacksonville: a chance to gather, sing along and leave a little lighter than you came in. It’s the perfect way to close out our very first season.”
“Season of Soul” is directed and produced by Hamby, with musical direction by White, band leadership by Frank Cleveland, choreography by Arielle Bryant and stage management by Kendra Teart and Phedre Delinois.
Costume styling is by Hamby, hair by Phedre Delinois and wardrobe supervision by Dirk Niedballa.
