Just as memoirs can fall into multiple genres, there are many ways to write and structure these “slice of life” books.
Dr. Margaret Nicholson presents an eye-opening approach to thinking about your memoir project. She will present her workshop, “Meandering Memoirs: Innovative Structures,” at the Ponte Vedra Writers meeting at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 28, at the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library, 101 Library Blvd. Her workshop will lead writers through an exploration of various methods for structuring memoirs and transforming a single biography into multiple memoirs.
Nicholson — she says you may call her Peggy — is a St. Augustine resident and the author of several memoirs, including “My Surprise Family: Find Your Ancestry Story.” She is currently working on a family memoir covering five decades. The Ponte Vedra Writers group is part of the Florida Writers Association (FWA), a statewide membership organization supporting aspiring and published writers in any genre.
The June 28 meeting is free and open to both members and nonmembers. For information on FWA, go to www.floridawriters.org.
