Bolles Lower School Ponte Vedra Beach Campus teacher Monica Morton lined up her second graders for a trip to the Wotiz Family Outdoor Learning Center — “The Treehouse” — on Aug. 21 for the class’s first time in the elevated learning space this school year.
The Bulldogs grabbed individual cushions and found cozy spots on the shady platform to listen to Morton read “The Magical Yet,” written by Angela DiTerlizzi and illustrated by Lorena Alvarez. The book encourages children to keep trying and persevere, shifting the mindset from “I can’t do it!” to “I can’t do it … yet.”
The class listened intently during story time, enjoying the fresh air and serene setting, and ended the afternoon lesson by enthusiastically sliding down from “The Treehouse” one at a time.
