Burnett Joseph (Joe) Bing, Jr., 83, passed away September 30, 2015. He was born in Jacksonville, FL and grew up in Colonial Manor. He moved his family to the beaches area in 1970 and settled in Palm Valley in 1974.

He proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. After serving, he attended the University of Georgia where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in industrial psychology. He then attended the University of Florida where he earned his degree in accounting. This began his long entrepreneurial career in the tax and accounting field. He retired in 1994 when he sold his CPA firm to his son. Joe then began his next career, exploring the U.S. in an RV with his beautiful wife and dogs.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Dodie; sons, Kevin (Kathy) and Jeff; grandchildren, Caroline, Joseph, and Lauren; brothers, Dan (Pat) and Jack (Julia); and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Barbara and her husband Roy.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 5th in Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church with Father Michael Larkin as Celebrant. Interment was held in Ponte Vedra Valley.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Our Lady Star of the Sea (Sister Parish Ministry), or to Young Life (N St. Johns County).
