Calling all creatives: Jax Fuse set for September

Filmmakers, artists, chefs, models, musicians, fashion designers and more invited to take part

Northeast Florida is home to a vibrant population of creative professionals, something not always on the radar of those working in other fields. But just as individuals who make their livings across the broad business spectrum benefit by collaboration, inspiration and a connection to innovation, so too do creatives.

With the goal of uplifting and empowering the creative economy in this region, the link — a multifaceted facility that enriches the community in diverse ways — last year launched Jax Fuse.

Link co-founder Gurpreet Misra said that, while the facility hosts events like EnterCircle and Circle of Creation, there is a need to have something focused on the creative economy.

“We think it is very important,” she said, “because that’s a major part of our economy. It needs that encouragement, that platform.”

The two-day event in 2024 gave creatives in three fields a chance to connect and share what they do. More than 300 attended.

This September, Jax Fuse is returning, bigger than before with new experiences, emerging talent and expanded programming over three dates. And the creative community is invited to become a part of it all.

Filmmakers, fashion designers, models, culinary artists, musical artists and visual artists are being sought to participate. Here’s a quick look at the three days and how they are shaping up:

Sept. 12: Food Day (with art and music)

Chefs and restaurateurs will share a variety of light bites with ticket holders at individual stations. Though cuisine will be the primary focus for this day, visual arts and music will be a part of the celebration. Paintings, photography and more will be displayed and musical performers will present in a variety of styles. Susanne Schuenke is expected to be the featured artist.

Sept. 14: Film Day

Organizers are looking for 10 or more short films to screen during this event. There will also be an inspiring speaker, networking opportunities, workshops and more. Films should be no longer than 20 minutes, can be in a variety of genres and must be appropriate for audiences age 13+. The deadline for submissions is in August, so filmmakers will want to act quickly. Food and beverages will be available.

Sept. 27: Fashion Day

Boutiques will have an opportunity to display their fashions. A panel will discuss fashion trends and industry insights. An international fashion designer and signature collections will be featured. And like last year, there will be a runway show. Models will be auditioned July 24, so now is the time to apply. Emerging, experienced and international designers are being sought to participate.

Tickets will be available for all three dates. Creatives may want to attend each as there is often the potential for a cross-pollination of talents, the fruit of networking. A model, for instance, may be a potential actress for a future film. An artist, musician or fashion designer may find collaborative opportunities with those in other disciplines. Culinary professionals, too, may discover new venues or events to share their tasteful creations.

In addition, Jax Fuse welcomes sponsorships.
