Carla Shoes and Accessories is a family-owned specialty boutique that is celebrating 30 years in business.
The store has been in Ponte Vedra since 1996, and it was named after the original owner’s daughter. Bill and Joanne Long took over as the sole owners in 2021, and Joanne said hitting the 30-year mark is a huge milestone.
“It’s a testament to our wonderful customers, dedicated employees and the support of this community,” she said.
Joanne originally joined Carla Shoes and Accessories as the store manager when it first opened and has been dedicated to the company ever since.
“I saw an opportunity to help grow a business that offered something special, beautiful, quality merchandise combined with a level of personal service that’s becoming increasingly rare. It’s been incredibly rewarding to be part of its success,” she said.
Bill wears several different hats and works behind the scenes to oversee technology, point-of-sale systems, the company’s website and marketing efforts.
“Together, we bring different strengths to the business, which has been an important part of our success,” said Joanne.
Carla Shoes and Accessories offers a wide variety of shoes including boots, heels, sandals and wedges. They also sell handbags, jewelry, clothing and sunglasses.
Carla Shoes and Accessories has become an important part of the community, and Joanne said that is because they make building relationships the top priority.
“We’re more than just a shoe store. We offer a unique shopping experience with beautiful merchandise, knowledgeable staff and personalized service. Many of our customers have been shopping with us for decades, and they’ve become like family,” she said.
Bill and Joanne recognize that 30 years is no small feat, especially for a locally owned business, and are excited to continue serving the community for the next 30 years.
“We’re incredibly grateful for the loyalty we’ve received and proud to have been part of Ponte Vedra Beach for three decades,” said Joanne.
