The 6th Annual Charity Witches Ride in Twenty Mile on Oct. 24 is an exciting and whimsical way to give back! For the past six years, this nationwide bike ride for women 18 and up has raised funds for various charities, while embracing the creativity of the Halloween season.
The “witches” will gather at Post Park to check in at 5 p.m. before “taking flight” around Twenty Mile village pool loop, down to the crossing and colony, to the outlook and will reach the finish line at the post. This bike ride is six miles and all funds raised will benefit V For Victory, a nonprofit that provides critical everyday services for adults, children and families battling cancer. They provide critical home needs, support and transportation services like car repairs through a vast array of business partnerships.
Participants enjoy having fun with the event. They dress in festive witch costumes and decorate their bikes or “brooms.” The Shirt Guru is sponsoring the ribbons for the “witches” to display who they are riding for. The “witches” will toss candy to children along their route while ROTC cadets follow on golf carts, scooping up extra candy to keep the roads clean.
After the bike ride, the witches will celebrate at the local South Kitchen and Spirits for witches’ brew, dancing and food. All of the proceeds from the party will go to Nease ROTC.
This year’s Charity Witches Ride is sponsored by Smart Soiree, Twenty Mile Central HOA, South Kitchen and Spirits, Cubed Homes, Twenty Mile West, Nease ROTC and World’s Greatest Heating and Air. Party Time Designs will provide the balloons for the after party and Cubed Homes will provide the lead golf cart.
