On Wednesday, April 30, community members joined at the link at Nocatee to attend the second session of the Circle of Creation series.

The series, which began its first of seven sessions in March, focused on how design thinking, emotional intelligence and AI can transform the way you approach challenges.

Business leaders and professionals from around the community gained insight on a process for creative problem-solving, emotional tools that can be used to lead with empathy and further tips on how to responsibly use AI in daily work.

Gurpreet Sania Misra, co-founder of the link and Sapna Foundation, opened the session by thanking attendees for their return, expressing her hope at the evening’s outcome.

“Tonight is about elevating your potential, exploring bold ideas and building meaningful connections that last,” she said.

The interactive session was led by Parul Patel, who shared her insights in a presentation titled “From Empathy to Execution: Integrating AI and EI into Amazon’s Working Backwards Method.”

“If you only leave with one thing tonight,” Patel said to the audience, “I want you to get really comfortable thinking big.”

Patel is a transformational business leader with more than two decades of executive experience known for orchestrating multimillion-dollar growth and driving meaningful change across organizations of all sizes.

Patel has a track record of turning businesses around and building high-performing teams — experience she brings from her time as managing partner at Avesa Partners and as former president of growth and strategy at Assessment Technologies Group.

At Slalom Consulting, she launched and scaled a new business unit that grew to more than $80 million and introduced digital innovations. Before that, during her time at Accenture, she doubled a $100 million practice and overhauled operations for more than 50 organizations.

During the session, attendees explored the Amazon Go store case study, uncovered the five steps to applying Al in design thinking and discovered how emotional intelligence (El) fosters psychological safety — the bedrock of team building and innovation.

The next Circle of Creation event will take place on Thursday, May 29, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the link.
