Coaching changes taking place for Sharks this summer

Ponte Vedra High School’s athletic program will have some changes heading into next season following the resignation of cross country head coach Jeff Cannada.

The school extended thanks to Cannada for the way he led the cross country teams over the years and as a result saw much success.

He leaves on a high note after leading the girls cross country team to a state title last year.

Plans are in the works to find his replacement prior to the start of the school year.

A new face that will be walking around the grounds of Ponte Vedra High next school year is Kara Koolage, who will be the new girls lacrosse head coach.

Koolage brings with her more than a decade of experience coaching at a variety of levels, from high school, college and internationally.

The girls lacrosse program is a state contender on a yearly basis, and she will be tasked with making sure the program continues that winning tradition.

Koolage is not new to the local area, having developed dedication for the sport of lacrosse and the Ponte Vedra community.
