Coastal Friends will hold an installation ceremony to induct a new slate of officers for the fiscal year starting July 1 at their monthly luncheon on June 5 at Marsh Landing Country Club, 25655 Marsh Landing Parkway, Ponte Vedra Beach, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The luncheon is open to the community, members and guests of Coastal Friends. The menu will consist of house salad with chef’s dressing, chicken florentine, baked red skin potato wedges, steamed vegetable medley and fruit-topped cheesecake. The cost to attend is $25 per person. Seating will be limited, so reservations must be made in advance by contacting bartshar@comcast.net. Luncheons are held on the first Wednesday of every month, except for July and August.

Established in 1998, Coastal Friends is a social group of women who live in Ponte Vedra Beach, Nocatee, Jacksonville, Jacksonville Beach, Neptune Beach, Atlantic Beach, St. Augustine and the surrounding area.  Some of the activities offered are adventures and outings, book club, bunco, canasta, happy hour, lunch in, lunch out, mah jongg, samba and wine socials.

Additionally, Coastal Friends collects food and pet items, toys, gently used items and donates them to various local organizations and animal shelters.

June’s highlighted Organization of the Month is Gabriel House. Gabriel House’s mission is to promote a “community of healing” environment by providing affordable, temporary lodging for adult organ transplant and cancer patients as well as their caregivers who come to Jacksonville for medical treatment.

New members are welcome throughout the year.
