The total number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus grew to 175 in St. Johns County as of Monday afternoon.
Of that group, 169 are residents and five are visitors, according to the Florida Department of Health.
Two have died in the county – a 67-year-old man and a 52-year-old man.
Thirty-two have required hospitalization and the rest are in self-quarantine.
Gov. Ron DeSantis signed an executive order requiring any “non-essential” workers to stay home until the virus threat has subsided. And he ordered cars to be stopped on highways from New York, Connecticut, New Jersey and Louisiana with orders that all visitors be quarantined for 14 days.
The governor also suspended vacation rentals and ordered hotels, campgrounds, RV parks and rentals not to honor reservations from “non-essential” guests until at least until the end of April.
As of Monday afternoon, 20,601 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in Florida, a one-day jump of 1,254 cases. The state’s death toll rose by 18 to 470.
